Product information
Facade fasteners are the parts that stay visible and stay wet. A zinc coating on a bolt head is consumed first at the thread and the slot, which is exactly where the joint needs its section, so exposed connections are usually specified in stainless rather than plated steel.
Bolts, nuts and washers are supplied as a matched set in A2 (304) or A4 (316), with the grade marked on the head. Thread length, head type and washer thickness follow the connection detail.

Frequently asked questions
When should A4 be used instead of A2?
Where chlorides are present: coastal sites, swimming pools, road salting. A2 is adequate inland where the joint dries out.
Can stainless bolts seize in service?
Yes, galling is a known risk on stainless-to-stainless threads. An anti-seize compound or a coated nut is the usual mitigation on site.
