Product information
The envelope is where a steel frame meets weather. The screws that fix the sheeting, the washers that seal the hole and the pins that hold insulation in place are small parts, but a failed washer shows up as a stain on the ceiling a season later.
Fixings are matched to the sheet profile and the purlin gauge: drill point type, thread pitch and length follow the total thickness being joined, and the washer is bonded to the head so it cannot be lost during installation. Heads can be coated to the sheet colour.

Frequently asked questions
Which washer should be specified?
A bonded EPDM washer for most metal roofing. On profiles with a wide pan, a larger washer diameter spreads the load and seals better.
Do coloured heads fade?
Coated heads weather faster than the sheet they sit on. On a visible facade, stainless or a matching alloy washer is often the better choice.
